Kate's Moment?

5312573b21120

I loved Kate Winslet as Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility and she was brilliant as Clementine in the Eternal Sunlight of the Spotless Mind. (It was horrible the way people criticized her for gaining a few pounds after Titanic.)

She looks beautiful (and charming while crying during acceptance speeches.) Can't wait to see how she does tonight. She has stiff competition though. What an amazing group of actresses!

Comment from the talented Tina Tarnoff: "She is just amazing, so strong and vulnerable at the same time. I loved the interview and the amazing photos of her as Deneuve in the December Vanity Fair. Here's the link. I do hope she wins!"

"Awwww" she said disappointedly."That doesn't look like Kate Winslet at all."

I think she deserves to win but this photo of her is silly in the extreme.

I <3 Kate Winslet. She's such an amazing actress & is consistently so.

She can pull off a variety of looks with ease & is comfortable within herself.

Above anything else - the way she carries herself & how she's lived her life (out of the spotlight for the most part) is great. She is a wonderful role model for women of our generation.

She is such a fantastic person (or, she seems to be, hehe, I don´t know her ;). And she´s also a truly beautiful woman, but apparently some people don't see that and photoshop her until she's unrecognizable, like on the cover on Vogue (?). I'm so sick of it. Anyhow, I´d really like to see her in this new movie "The reader". Saw the trailer the other day and it seemed great!.

Americans are always telling me I sound like Kate Winslet - I wonder if that happens to all English women? I'll ask.

I love the way that Kate is true to herself and projects that consistently. She glows with happiness too. I'm so bored of 'poor me' celebrities and Kate's never been one of those. It shines through beautifully.

Some of the celebrities I've met look really false in person - you get the sense that their smiles are just there for the cameras and there's something unwholesome and ungrateful about them. Not Kate though. I met her once and she's even more gorgeous in person. There were pictures of her in the papers the next day saying she was fat. She absolutely was not! I was right next to her and there wasn't an ounce of spare flesh on the girl. She was breathtaking and had amazing skin.

Of course, none of this matters if an actress can't act and she can act her socks off. She works hard at her craft and she deserves all the success she has achieved. Well done Kate, you did good. Blighty raises a cuppa in your direction. Proud of you, Chuck.
