The sun is finally out, a short reprieve before a new storm. I thought I would celebrate by having tea in the garden this afternoon. (Which inspired the above post.) I love Los Angeles after a rainstorm. You can see from the mountains, to the ocean, to the islands. Beautiful. I'm trying to decide whether to make blooming jasmine tea (bought at the Tea Palace in Notting Hill) or Earl Gray (from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.)

Tea is a wonderful thing. In the ancient Japanese "Way of Tea", it describes the first sip as consolation, the second as ectasy and the third, contentment. I think a good strong cup of tea with a simple English "digestive biscuit" is a small experience of heaven on earth. I'd love to drink mine under those goreous roses with the Japanese laterns.
jasmine and earl grey are def my favourite teas! tough choice...maybe the jasmine to welcome the spring flowers?
Does anyone have a good crumpet recipe? I fell in love with the crumpets at the Tea Palace in Notting Hill. They were warm, with honey. Yummy!
