Time and Love

Time and Love
I love this photo (via Lolita). It says: "Time has been invented by people unable to love." (Even the taggers in Paris are romantic!)

What's the most interesting thing you've seen written on a wall? (For me: I saw "hang up" written on a stucco wall in Santa Monica, a nod to LA's cell phone addiction.)

From English Muse readers:

In the Second Street Tunnel in Los Angeles:
"The white lady on TV lies."

In a bathroom at Sarah Lawrence College in New York:
"Eve was framed."

And on a wall in Melbourne:
"/war"  between "< >"

The most interesting graffito I think I ever saw was in your Los Angeles' second street tunnel. It said, "The white lady on TV lies."

I was in a bathroom at Sarah Lawrence College, and on the wall was written: "Eve was framed."

Love it.

Helen - I may have to graffiti that on every public toilet I ever enter from hereonin.

the best graffiti I've ever seen was on a wall in melbourne and it said /war with < > around it.

I hate that comments never let me actually write it properly!

Charlotte: Sometimes it seems like a legal requirement that every automobile commercial include at least one shot of that gleaming tiled tunnel. Even in Italy, the Second Street Tunnel seemed to end up in two car ads out of three. I wonder if that grafitto registered subliminally...

At my high school, there was one bathroom stall that had inspirational quotes all over it (not cheesy ones, but, like, ones from Jimi Hendrix and Gandhi). My friends and I called it the "hippie stall." We were all so sad when it was repainted.

i think it means that the ones who invented time cannot love...

but those who fall in love can follow time, if they choose (so love to your hearts content Paresh!!)

In the German town where I did my undergrad, there was a series of graffiti concerning curried sausages. The messages translated to about the following:

"Curried sausage is your salvation"

"Penguin, eat curried sausage!"

"Curried sausage and red wine"

"Curried sausage from dog-hair"

Very strange.
