White. It's the New Black!

Hello everyone. It's very late here but I'm wide awake. They were serving chocolate martinis and trays of Godiva bonbons at the Elton John party. I've had way too much sugar. And now I'm on the Internet and watching Oscar recaps on TV. So, what did you think of the Oscar fashions? The colors were very neutral this year, with fewer diamonds. Bling is out. White is in. Everyone looked like a bride. I'm longing for the days when Nicole was wearing chartreuse.

Hi Tina,

Thanx for the "tidbit"! Have'nt got to see the Oscars as yet! Living in South Africa, will only get to see tonight and I love the oscar fashions - no dress ups here only time was as a bride!

I had fun watching. There were several elegant and eloquent speeches. Jackman was hardly on at all.

There were not close-ups of Daniel Craig - a shame.

No dresses really bowled me over. I thought Sarah-Jessica looked silly. She needs to head on over to the Blue Kimono for some pointers on aging gracefully.

Reese Witherspoon added some colour. And Halle Berry, hot as always.

I love Tilda Swinton but she always dresses in the most unappealing bags.

That's my wrapup.

Good golly I love white dresses. My absolute favorite. I bought one in San Francisco this week. They make me feel like those faerie lanterns in your last post.
Penelope's is my favorite - a pure classic.

Taraji P Henson's dress in the top photo is my favorite. i love the thin layers of silk. Truly yummy.

SPJ's dress is fine, but it would have been better on Anne Hathaway...

I really liked Kate Winslet's dress. I thought it was the best one by far - and suited her well. I also thought Amy Adams looked gorgeous, but that Anne Hathaway could have used some color in her dress. Loved watching, though! It was fun.

SO?! Who was at the Elton John party? All the winners??

I loved vintage Balmain dress that penelope was wearing and Marisa Tomei one, but I do agree that there was not enough color!

I'm not going to criticize. I thought everyone looked lovely. Penelope bought her own beautiful vintage dress & I LIKE THAT. (See Washington Post, Robin Given on that subject in yesterday's paper. Don't have link as I have the "hard copy.")

I'm so happy that Kate won & I loved her dress. OK, I will criticize a tad. Sarah Jessica's overly-fluffy girly-I'm-really-a-ballerina -- (referencing constantly a Marilyn Monroe shoot over & again) - is getting old. No matter how pretty she might have looked. I feel guilty now. So off to flog self. ciao all, xo.

(And Hugh Jackman was totally elegant & wonderful. Sigh.)

I forgot all about it this year, so I have to settle for the pictures today. But I just fell in love with Sarahs dress.
