Eden

Eden

It's officially spring -- at least in my little patch of yard. I found the first full rose bloom of the season on my favorite rosebush, a climber called "Eden." It's a big, pink complicated cabbage-like rose. I planted the bush five years ago and now it covers the railing along the front porch. It's spectacular when it's fully in bloom.

For now, this single rose is positively perfect.

Thank you all for keeping me company during my insomnia last night. I've read all your comments three times already! Can't wait to drop in on your blogs -- such a creative, International group! So happy to meet you in this beautiful corner of the Internet.

xoxo

(Tonight, I've resolved to go to bed early!)

That rose is so amazing! I have a rose bush in my back yard as well. Makes me want to check it out and take a few pictures of my own. :D

Rose, the flower most regalled by the royals. Be it's in their first or last bloom, they always portend beauty all season round.

What a gorgeous picture and what a beautiful rose - you can only imagine what my favorite flower is!
With snow on the way, however, I would delight in seeing any flower blooming in my garden now! Enjoy your Spring!

The first rose of the season is so special. My first home had an out-of-control-huge rambling rose bush that was so beautiful when it bloomed.

great blog -- looking forward to reading and seeing more! and I second the melatonin suggestion -- either that or a fabulous Chinese doctor in Los Angeles.

Beautiful rose! Spring is definitely in bloom now. The beauty of a rose is that even when only one has bloomed or one is left at the end of the season it always makes you stop and take a moment.

Is it any wonder that roses--particularly the old fashioned ones like your lovely French variety--have inspired more poetry than any other flower? I hope you'll share photos of your porch when the bush is in full bloom!

I have just planted a climbing rose. I keep willing it to grow grow grow. Seeing your rose has cheered me up, it is lovely. It has reminded me that I have beautiful roses to come. Even if I have to wait a year or two.

Wow! I wish the weather was that nice over here! We still have a little bit of snow left and the grass is still yellow. So no roses yet lol But at least all the snow is almost gone!

I love Eden climbers! They have such a beautiful form. I'm debating if I should get one to cover the ugly building that butts up against our balcony, but I'm not sure if they will climb it, even with a trellis.

Many flowers out now signify this beautiful season but your rose is truly stunning.

Your blog has a magic... Just by using plain, casual world you make people feel connected to you.. I certainly feel that bond too...
Your blog has given me a lot to think... Now I will not wait for any trigger to write... But the best part about you is , for you any small incident also works as a trigger :) I never imagined 'A Cabbage looking Rose' can also gain so much attention ... Keep up the good work man.. I love your blog...
