Holidays

eggs

...Easter weekend with its candy colors...

easter eggs

...We live in a lovely Armenian neighborhood, with the most delicious Middle Eastern restaurants and delis. The pastry shops make the prettiest Easter baskets and the most wonderful baklava. We're having my parents over for brunch on Sunday. I'm still trying to decide on the menu (besides a large tray of the sticky sweet baklava)!

...What are your plans?

Top photo from the lovely Jen, who has expanded her fantastic store. Check it out {here}.

These photos are too exquisitely lovely to eat. Can I come to brunch at your house? I'll bring pink oriental lillies for their frangrance, champagne for the mimosas and I promise to charm your parents.

my sister's getting married on Sunday. It'll be a completely different sort of Easter!

I think I'm having Easter dinner with my dad, stepmom, brother, stepbrother, and my stepmom's parents. It's what we've done for the last few years, and it's always at my house (because we have the hugest kitchen ever).

Happy Easter!

Will be with family as well. Isn't Easter such a lovely holiday? Family, brunch, and sunny breezy Spring days are the absolute best.

Hope yours is wonderful dear!

We're going to our cabin in the lovely and remote northern Michigan....just us and the dog and sunny weather for three days. Enjoy your holidays, all!

Tina, the color in your pics is amazing! No Easter plans as of yet. My family all lives out of town, and I'm feeling blue that I can't be there for our annual Easter cookout, where we make a huge spread of food and eat in the garden and play croquet. The boy's family does not celebrate. Perhaps we will steal away to the mountains and do some hiking, then find a lovely meadow in which we'll have a picnic.

Oh, baklava! I love it. When we had a place in Paris (when I was small) we always had a tray of it on top of the fridge. Sweet temptation!

No plans here except lunch with the in-laws...the Q is a little too small still for decorating eggs! I can picture destruction on an epic scale!

It's brunch and the beach for us! I would definitely put baklava on the menu. Soooo good.

I'm having my uncle and aunt over with their two children, which should make for some great photography. I also can finally break Lent, so I'll be eating all the sweets I want that day!

Oh, what lovely pictures!! I just love this time of the year. I am making all of my Italian grandmother Carmellas Easter recipes, Ham pie, ricotta pie, asparagus salmon quiche, sweet potato casserole, glazed ham, homemade Easter bread with the most delicious icing, Italian cheese cake with strawberries, bloody mary's and violete liquor champange cocktails. We are having our Easter egg hunt at our farmhouse with our sons and their bunnies! Have a wonderful Easter
