I was exploring Lori Langille's fantastic blog, Automatism, the other day when I found the link to her illustration website. Wow. Her work is so wonderful. (Sampling above) The woman with the pot and pan hat is fantastic and I love the one with the men dressed as butterflies. There's even more {here} at lorilangille.com. Her work has appeared in publications ranging from Texas Monthly to the Toronto Globe and Mail. Whimsy and fantasy make a clever blend!

These are delightful. Max Ernst started it all with "Une Semaine de Bonte" by cutting up and pasting illustrations from sensational novels into dramatic narratives.

Agree with Mme Clever Pup.

Lori was the first person to link to Giulia Geranium blog...& I didn't know it. Looking at her beautiful blog one day, almost a year ago (?) & noticed it in the sidebar links. It was so very kind of her since it's hardly a design/art blog.

Her website & her blog have wonderful synchronicity. Cannot recommend her sites enough. I'm so happy to see this post. xo svs/gg

Elegance and wit are a powerful combination. . .and when they don't take themselves too seriously, the result is delight.

Fantastic.. love the butterfly men, the metal head hurts me, but its fabulous - reminds me of the paintings of Giuseppe Arcimboldo - illustrations of all the stuff in our heads & on our brains....what does a modern womans head look like?

I really love her art. Very dada! There's nothing better than having butterflies and baking on your mind. Butterflies transforming into men... hmm, I'll have to think deeper about that. Adore her blog, too! xoxo
