Many Shades of Ocean Blue

I love this photo by Yosigo on Flickr. Seemed fitting for the holiday. How was your weekend? I spent the weekend trying to catch up on laundry! I haven't been able to reach the bottom of the laundry basket in weeks. (Usually I just give up and head to Target to buy socks and knickers.)

hahaha, have to say ditto on the laundry front - I put in 3 loads and there's still more!!! sigh.
Fab weekend here in Sydney, found your blog, which of course, can only mean good things, and also took pictures of water...

sorry, this seems a tad random and personal for a blog comment, but well, you did ask... :)

This photo is so serene, although it makes me yearn for the water. Don't remind me about laundry. I also need to finish pulling out summer clothes and packing away the winter ones. Have a wonderful holiday!

Laundry, laundry, laundry. That's a chore that never ends.

I love these sea shots. So cool and dreamy.

Spent mostly lying down as it's now going on third month of illness. So the blue is welcome (as you know, I do love it) & as in DC & so near the sea, it upsetting not go be able to be there for a few years.

I would give a lot to even have ability to do laundry in apt. (other than the tub method: previous lives in the Middle East & Europe, it's not such a big deal. At home: not an adventure) instead of dragging outside & down a hill to a very expensive, sometimes working laundry room. Or the ability to go to Target & buy new knickers...so I guess I don't belong over here. (Hey, you asked:)

Had to cancel my trip down the street at Walter Reed where I visit (with others) wounded soldiers every month. But there are so many living here a few blocks away, that I sort of visit informally anyway.

My big news for the weekend: 1) someone left up a sign saying "take the Sunday New York Times if you see it first" (I did, hurrah); 2) invitations to two parties/bbqs in June that, fingers crossed, could-lead-to-some-paid-work; 3) Chocolat was on TV late last night with limited interruptions (I'd only seen in theatre when released) & that cheered me up immensely (I won't have TV after June 12 switchover for abstract future so soaking in the free stuff now); 4) rec'd two acceptances for poems in Friday's mail. I never believe it until something's published, but since I'd not sent anything out in over a year, it was a huge surprise.

I hope your papa is doing well, T.

xoxo

Girl...you have to find a great drop-off laundry service. The best thing you can do for yourself outside of dessert.

These photos remind me of something your fellow Angeleno David Hockney once said about the sea. He said it was "a curious combinaton of the infinite and the intimate." I love it in either mood.

AH, what a soothing collage! That would look nice mounted on a wall, wouldn't it? We have a Mediterranean blue bedroom, and I think it would fit in perfectly!

I hate doing laundry. I want my own washer and a drier. More than a pair of Louboutin flats. When I finaly gather the courage to do the laundry, there is so much accumulated that we have to go by car. A couple of blocks away. I should be ashamed of myself. As should you, young lady! xoxox

bluetiful! love the shades of water. laundry is bane of the masses - no end in sight. Had a lovely weekend planting and painting. laundry waits with impatience and impunity... ended with a veritable feast with friends, How was your weekend after the laundry hit bottom?
