Miss Isabella

bella
Hello darlings. Hope you're doing well. Are you looking forward to the weekend? My dad will be in the hospital for a few more days. We've certainly had a lot of ups and downs. Yesterday was definitely one of the up days: The doctor is pleased with my dad's progress. And, after returning from the hospital, I found a lovely letter in the mailbox about my daughter. My ten-year-old girl (that's her in the Polaroid photo with the word "study" written on her hand) penned a poem that won the notice of the judges of a national children's writing competition. They're going to include it in an anthology with other children writers. I'm so proud of her, that cutie!

This is what she wrote:

Earth
Earth is the wet rain that falls on your head
Without the Earth all the flowers would be dead
Earth is the sun that shines up, up above
Without the Earth there would be no more love
Do this favor so the sky can be seen
Do us this favor and keep the Earth clean!

Good advice from a fifth grader! xoxo

If only everybody thought like your gorgeous girl... just lovely!

Great news about your dad, we will all keep sending our love and good vibes for more 'up' days than 'downs'.

What a wonderful poem! Congrats, Isabella! And love how she wrote a reminder to study on her hand - did it work? :)

Hi Tina, Great to here that your dad is doing well. Amazing advice from your daughter, it would be even more amazing if "adults" would actually act on it! Our children are the future and your cutie is fortunate to have such a fabulous mom.

Have a fabulous weekend. xoxo Li

My little sister was published in the same anthology a couple years ago :) Congratulations to her. And I feel like I should have the word "study" written down on my hand right now, too.

Congrats to your girl! It is so awesome that someone this young knows that what needs to get done is to be done by us. Not some magic fairy garbage picker- upper. Tina, I would be bursting with pride!

Have a lovely weekend!

I'm so glad to hear that your Dad is doing better. Your daughter's poem is so good! With a talented mum like you, I'm sure that she is inspired daily. I love the polaroid of her hand.

Holy Cow!! Your daughter has a sense hope and duty like you do!!! How wonderful. She has lovely hands - made for wearing lovely jewelry and penning important messages simutaneously. Let's celebrate her poem/message today!!! I am going out in my kayak to celebrate it. You can take a walk, listen to the birds, however - to celebrate her important message!

Do you use the Polaroid 600 film for your Polaroid? Is there a Fuji film equivalent? I'm tempted to buy a Polaroid 600 camera on Ebay, but am concerned about the rising polaroid film prices?

Is there a Fuji film equivalent?

Congratulations on your daughters success :D

Just wondering where you source your polaroid film from? I recently ressurected mine (it uses Polaroid 600 film). I was looking for some film for it online but its all so expensive now- considering I got the camera 9 years ago (feels like a lifetime ago) i was really surprised to find that there is almost no film for these cameras left! :( Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you x

The writing on the hand looks familiar... my two boys come home almost every day with writing on their hands... le sigh!
