My Paris Apartment: The Details

Hello! As promised, here are the details on my Paris apartment. I found this beautiful place in the 16th Arrondissement last year on the vacation rental site VRBO.com. (I've also rented apartments in Rome and in Washington D.C. through them). I friend of mine recommended the site to me several years ago and I've been very happy with the results.

Each apartment is individually owned and listed on VRBO.com, and while I can't vouch for all the owners, my landlords in Paris couldn't be more gracious or obliging.

If you're interested in renting the apartment, here's the link. The building is aging and has a few quirks, but the apartment is beyond charming. Here's the link to more pictures on my flickr page.

As you'd expect, the rates are lower in winter, when the airfares are also on special. I flew to Europe on Air France with a last minute deal spotted on their website.

The next place I'd like to go is Barcelona.

Such a lovely apartment. I saw the other pictures on your flickr page and am in love with the green velvet settee. I have packs of Gitane's scattered all over my home, my friends love them. They take them down to our Springhouse and come back an hours later!!

I use to live in an amazing apartment in the 5th across from the Jardin des Plantes. I love the traditional Parisian apartment buildings with the big wooden doors leading into the little courtyard and concierge.
I miss it!

You can also rent a flat with Homelidays.com or flipkey.com (it's Tripadvisor). You deal directly with the owners and like on Ebay there is feedback from previous lodgers.
I always rent my flat like that in Europe and i've been always happy.

I love the bed - very French. Reminds me of the beds my grandparents favored. Oh, how I'd love to take the family to Paris one of these days!
