The Future of the English Muse, Part II

If You Please
Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for participating in my little survey. I've been thinking a lot about your answers this weekend and I've decided to turn the English Muse into a blog about books (mostly!). It will focus on the sorts of books that we all love: Decor, fashion, photography, art, gardening and literature. I also hope to include Q&As with authors! It would be impossible for me to write a blog about books without including my two other loves: Magazines and newspapers.

I hope the English Muse will become your destination to learn about interesting, beautiful and stylish printed media.

I'm working on the redesign of the blog now so please stay tuned for the launch date!

Thank you!!

Tina

PS: The illustration above is by artist C.J. Metzger. It accompanied an article I did some time ago about etiquette books. I loved the illustration so much that I asked Ms. Metzger if I could buy the original. (The photo she used in the collage is of her grandmother.) It's now framed in my kitchen!

I'm so glad you've decided to include magazines and newspapers, as well. These, the books you will feature, and all the blogs that you reference and recommend on your website give all of us ample reading material to enjoy, learn from, and share with others. I can't wait for your first installment!!

I adore books so very much, but I LOVE your blog as it is and I dont want it to change! Yours was the first blog I ever read and you opened up a whole new beautiful world to me. I wish you all the best with your new direction, but I cant lie and say I won't miss the visions on everything else you share, such as travel and photography and decorating. I know The english Muse will remain an amazing blog though and as reading is pretty much my favourite thing to do, I can see I will still remain inspired!

I just realised, that sounded a bit negative. What I menat to say was good luck on your new direction!

Hi Amber my dear,
thank you ! don't worry, i will still be writing about travel and photography!! i'm working on the design for the new template now, and i will include space for all the personal tidbits, polaroids and such...i'm just searching for a better focus for my efforts. Books seems like the right way to go...

I"m interested to follow the development of the new English Muse. The current form is lovely and brings me back time and again, but I'm excited to add a beautiful book and magazine blog to my reading list. I read both visual blogs and book blogs, but none that bring the two worlds together as nicely as I expect the English Muse will.

As long as you are the one writing this blog dear, I will be the one reading.
I think books/magazines/media is an amazing choice.
Helping to stimulate an art that may be dying.

I can't think of one blog that I read that focuses mainly on books. J'adore the idea!!
