Some things aren't meant to be...

roses
It's a very cold, rainy day here in LA and I'm very sad to tell you that we had to withdraw our bid on the little Victorian. After having it inspected and investigating further we discovered that it would have been far more expensive than we realized to deal with the removal of the peeling lead-based paint. There's a new law that requires painters to treat lead paint as if it were, well, asbestos.
(More on that here...)

So our search goes on....

I am sorry, Tina. I know it's upsetting...& I hate when people say 'but' but I'm going to. Friends dealt with lead issues years ago in Brooklyn that actually put them in bankruptcy from the mess...& medical bills. It's still not over at 7 years & counting. I'm glad for that law.

I'm sorry for your disappointment, but in my experience, these little walls that we bump into eventually lead us to something better that we just hadn't seen before.
Those old houses are beautiful in an artistic sense, but just like an old, wooden boat, they are nothing but money and maintenance. It is better to look at them and appreciate them, but let somebody else handle the upkeep.
Good luck in your search!

I'm sorry to hear that :( My family also did not get the first house they wanted but we ended up in something much better suited for us. You never know what this will lead to!

oh sadly there are many things that are not meant to be and sometimes it is the things we want the most- don't ask why, because how could there be any logical answer? that something better is coming perhaps, I hope so for you and yours. go to Paris-

I'm so sorry about the house - it is heart-wrenching when the one you've set your sights on turns out to be the wrong one for you. Hoping something even better is just round the corner for you!

I am sooo sorry to hear that but its better to find out than get saddles to a place that wrecks your budget and breaks your heart. You'll find your place to settle into and it will be sooner rather than later! Has your lovely daughter done any fun videos lately?

When one door closes, another one opens. I too fell in Love with the first house we put an offer on and someone else beat us to it. I was
super bummed but then shortly after we found the One!! xo Samantha

Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about this! I know it must be hard but you must know that the right place will turn up when it's time. Little consolation in the moment, but something I believe it is true. Be well and know that I'm wishing on the highest star for your ship to come in. :)
