Happy Weekend

Weekend To Do List

Saturday:

*Avoid the 405 Freeway (This weekend is Carmageddon here in Los Angeles!)

*In fact, avoid car travel all together.

*Walk to the newsstand to pick up the weekend editions of the FT and the Wall Street Journal.

*Stop by the coffee shop for an iced latte.

*Walk to the market to pick up fresh greens, beets, and dried cranberries for a summer salad.

*Have lunch on the back porch where the canyon breeze is the best.

*Spend the afternoon reading in the hammock under the magnolia tree.

*Take a nap.

Sunday:

*Sleep In.

*Make French Toast and coffee.

*Read the Sunday New York Times.

*Walk to the movie theatre to see Harry Potter.

*Spend the evening at the park, listening to live music.

What are you doing this weekend?

PS: Here's a very funny story about Carmageddon by one of my former LA Times colleagues.

Sounds like a lovely weekend (besides the whole Carmageddon thing)

I am seeing Harry Potter tonight, and beyond that, I don't have much planned, which I am happy about, excited for some relaxing!

I'll take your weekend - it sounds perfect! I will definitely be staying away from all the freeways this weekend. By foot or bike is how I will be traveling!

Making lots and lots of food with farmstand bonanza . . . relish, jam, and baked good plus some freezing. Going for a horseback ride in the park. Swimming. And hitting the Sunday morning flea market in Bagnoli.

I haven't seen Midnight in Paris yet! Maybe I'll hit a matinee this week...

As for giving up the WSJ? I love the weekend off duty section. The paper wisely snapped up some of the former domino staffers, and the section is outstanding...

Without the WSJ, that would leave me with just the FT and the NYT. I haven't read the LA Times in almost two years. I won't even let my husband bring a copy into the house.

You've got a lovely blog here! :) It's my first time stopping by from networked blogs and I guess you can safely count me as a frequent follower. ;)

My weekend has ended 'cos it's already Monday for me. So it's gonna be spent finishing up my thesis paper! x
