The Architecture of Trees

trees...

...It's amazing what a viewfinder can do. It wasn't until I got my Polariod and began pointing at everything in sight did I appreciate the marvelous architecture of trees...

trees...

...Spare, bare branches through the winter... Boughs heavy with fruit and leaves in spring...

trees...

...Cypress trees are like those wonderful Egyptian obelisks: Essays in vertical elegance...

trees...

...On Polaroid a weeping willow is even more like a poem than it is in person...

trees...

...Who knew that all this loveliness was on the other side of the viewfinder...It's all a matter of viewpoint...

    Took quick walk this afternoon to see/count different trees/flowers/etc. about to bloom. Up in a pine there were elongated shapes...for a moment I thought: why are there bats hanging from that tree? No, just lots of bunches of longish pine cones that hung on through lots of wind. Protected tree, perhaps that's why. I'd never seen so many like that before. When I think of it now, I would describe them as banana bunches, not bats. Goodness. More like: Bats. In. My. Belfry.

    You know,Polaroid photographing is still a habit of trained designers to get an immediate impression, the only drawback is that the photos need protected from direct sun light as they are not very colourfast.

    I have always loved laying on the grass and just staring up at the trees. The way they move in the wind hypnotizes me. (I want my polaroid back,the quality of the photos is very soothing)

    Hi. I really liked your writing. Have you ever been in a forest watching the sunlight pass through the trees? It is lovely, if you haven't, you should do it one day.

    I find trees to be so magical-- when you stop to consider all they must have seen, how much history a tree holds-- maybe the saying shouldn't be "if these walls could talk" but "if these trees could talk!" Trees are pretty amazing when you stop to think about it :)
