1920s apartments and hair salons with catchy names
define the neighborhood around Kings Road in Los Angeles...
But my favorite spot of all is this place...
The Kings Newsstand, packed with foreign magazines. I love buying copies of French Vogue and the World of Interiors before heading next door to the coffee house, where they make lattes decorated with hearts...

Bliss.
beautiful shots. i especially love the first one.

ReplyDeleteThe muted colors in these photos are spectacular. And I'd like a heart-shaped latte now, please.
ReplyDeleteI would spend every penny in my pocket at the newsstand. Well, maybe leave enough for a latte.

I love looking through all the foreign magazines. I usally go to MagNation here in Melbourne to do that. A store dedicated to magazines, bliss!!
ReplyDeleteMy sister lives just a few blocks from there and that is one of my favorite cups of coffee anywhere.
ReplyDeleteMagazines & coffee? HEAVEN! Now a little Southern California sunshine and some good chatting company and I'd have it made! Hmmm? Who could I possibly chat with over coffee and magazines? ;)
ReplyDeletei love foreign magazines too! its so fun to see what kind of layouts they have, how styles are different around the world, and you can sort of travel vicariously.
ReplyDeletetheres a book store that sells used books near where i live that sells a whole bunch of foreign mags and i would always end up spending more money than i should on all these intriguing foreign magazines (which are really expensive)
