Hello everyone! I wanted to tell you that my story on Colin Firth ran today, if you're interested in seeing it. The link is
here. He's considered an Oscar contender for his role in Tom Ford's "A Single Man," based on the Christopher Isherwood novel. He's also smart, down to earth, and -- well -- very handsome (tall, square jaw, curly brown hair). ... Ok, I'll stop. Check out the story and let me know what you think! It was a piece I was working on at the LA Times...
UPDATE: I'm loving this newly released poster for the movie.
brava! well done, tina.
ReplyDeletelucky! (although i bet luck had nothing to do with it.)
ReplyDeleteGreat, great work!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Miss Tina. I really enjoy your writing {as I enjoy Mr. Firth himself}.
ReplyDeleteThey were fools to let you get away!
Cheers.

ReplyDeleteGreat piece, Tina. How silly of them to let you go.
ReplyDeleteI realize I'm leaving a comment on almost all of your posts, but I just have to do it on this one too! That's amazing you got to do that, I think he's so great and gracious in every single way. And an incredible actor. I'm going to save the story to read later today!
ReplyDeleteYou lucky, lucky thing! Great article, well done - I see only in shades of green now!
ReplyDeletefabulous. Congratulations (and you lucky devil) also loving the new header. Am I behind on this? I've only just noticed...? Love love
ReplyDeleteExcellent piece (and love that shot of Mr Firth). Would love any comment (honest and brutal I don't mind) about a piece I wrote for Elle - want to be a better writer! Thank you in advance :) http://www.cricketwife.com/2009/12/elle-magazine-talent-competition.html
ReplyDeleteGood work, I really enjoyed reading at it! *claps*
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely read. Who could ever forget the moment Elizabeth stumbled upon Mr Darcy as he emerged wet and impossibly sexy from the lake? We rewound that scene so many times the tape stretched! I'm also rather fond of our Colin's character in Love Actually. One of our finer British exports I think!
ReplyDeleteThank God you had the forsight in starting your blog. I have a friend who is an anchor at the Baltimore Sun, well regarded, the Sun has now require he work nights and weekends once a month. Trying to drive him out, shameful. You have a gift and I am glad you found your medium, I hope it supports you, Lisa Staples

ReplyDeleteGreat great article! I was completely drawn into it, and it really gives a feeling of how both he and Tom Ford are.
ReplyDeleteGreat Article congrats.!!!
ReplyDeleteohhhhh magnificent! well done! i probably shouldnt tell you that i was drooling the whole time...but when you play the perfect Mr/Darcy, well, that's what you should expect!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing it with us. I can't wait to see that film, even the music in the trailer is getting to me!
I tweeted about your article. :)
Oh how I adore Colin Firth! He's one of the guys who tops my "Men Who Epitomize Dashing" list (right along with Cary Grant).
ReplyDeleteLovely article. I'm intrigued by this story as well as Tom Ford directing — can't wait to see the movie.
So great!! What an awesome assignment!!
ReplyDeleteMy first question is how on earth did you manage to keep your composure whilst talking the man? I am sure I would have been distracted the entire time with the urge to ask inappropriate questions about wet white shirts!
ReplyDeleteWonderful article...I can't wait to see the movie and the scene he described...sounds very powerful and moving!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read your article yet but had to say how much I love this actor. Just wonderful! He also runs a really smart eco-design shop in London with his wife and family.
ReplyDeleteJust woke up to this post, coffee and Colin is a nice start to the day!
Seriously lucky! Going to read the post now!
