I'll book the flight...

01
Where do you want to go? San Francisco? Saint-Tropez? Lucerne? Lake Havasu? I'm so restless. I haven't been anywhere since January. Too long not to travel...I need a little getaway. What about you?

It's been so long since I've been anywhere else but here, ugh. Do you know that I've never been to LA? I know! I always went to see friends in San Francisco or elsewhere in northern California but I don't know anyone there now. I've been having a major urge to be in Crete or Santorini (off-season, especially).

Looking at old photos can be wonderful...or sad if there's no way you'll be back anytime soon. My fallback was always Rome. Oh, Tina, you've opened a can of worms here on the East Coast...off to watch Letterman & mull this over...like I can really book This Flight Tonight. xo, Susan

If we go to paris, we can visit my friend elaine -- who knows where all the best resale stores are... if we go to tuscany, we can rent a huge villa and make delicious italian meals. and drink wine. and look at the sunsets....Hmmm...Santorini sounds amazing too...George Clooney is building a house in Mexico...maybe we can drop in on him. hah!

I NEED to breathe that canned aircraft "air" more than ever, I am missing taking off my shoes and having my passport stamped.....alas until this ankle cast comes off and rehab is done and I have been given to walk the streets of a distant land, the only travel I will be doing is in my mind:

Aah, I have only three months to go until I travel from England all through Europe, Ukraine and Russia to end up in Mongolia. By myself. On trains.

Slightly more anxious than excited, flying is sounding a lot more appealing!

But Paris, Paris, Paris is where I'd like to go just now. xx

I spent a day last week eating in French restaurants (not one but TWO butter-laden, delicious meals) and taking a little virtual trip to Paris via the internets, visiting all my favorite places through photographs. It *almost* felt like a vacation.

I am dying for an adventure. I want to see Senegal and Mali and float down the Niger river in an ancient-looking boat. But I'd settle for Croatia or a Greek Island. The plum blossoms should be out soon in Skopelos.

(Thank you for your very sweet comment on my blahg. You too are a daily staple!)

THis is what used to be my annual roadtrip season, back when I lived in Vail and wasn't responsible for anyone but myself! Hard to believe that was only three years ago! Normally, I would getting ready to hit the road west toward Moab, Zion, Escalante, and finally southern Nevada and the less traveled regions of the Mojave desert. I love this time of year in the Mojave, before it gets really hot.
So....yes, I miss it. I will be dreaming of the desert this month. But I also look forward to the pink froth of spring bloom here in Denver, where Cherry Creek is named after the profusion of crabapples that line the river.

Lord knows I've been DYING to get out o' dodge! Oy! For me...Napa/SF, Paris, Capri, or Vietnam would suit me just fine. :) (More likely to be an "armchair traveler" these days.)

I know the feeling. I haven't traveled since July 2008. It's killing me a little. My HUBS and I are in pretty bad need of, at least, a short road trip.
