It's officially spring -- at least in my little patch of yard. I found the first full rose bloom of the season on my favorite rosebush, a climber called "Eden." It's a big, pink complicated cabbage-like rose. I planted the bush five years ago and now it covers the railing along the front porch. It's spectacular when it's fully in bloom.
For now, this single rose is positively perfect.
Thank you all for keeping me company during my insomnia last night. I've read all your comments three times already! Can't wait to drop in on your blogs -- such a creative, International group! So happy to meet you in this beautiful corner of the Internet.
xoxo
(Tonight, I've resolved to go to bed early!)

ReplyDeleteyes, that and a glass of wine!!
ReplyDeleteRose, the flower most regalled by the royals. Be it's in their first or last bloom, they always portend beauty all season round.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Happy Spring :)
ReplyDeleteSo dreamy and summer-like!
ReplyDeletelol. hopefully you sleep better tonight. love the rose. turning cold here for a few days, but spring should resume soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely, this rose makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteoh! thank you!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous picture and what a beautiful rose - you can only imagine what my favorite flower is!
ReplyDeleteWith snow on the way, however, I would delight in seeing any flower blooming in my garden now! Enjoy your Spring!
Yay for spring! I love it when the first rose blooms- its like the signal that everything is coming back to life! Ahhh...
ReplyDeleteThe first rose of the season is so special. My first home had an out-of-control-huge rambling rose bush that was so beautiful when it bloomed.
ReplyDeleteBineţe !(BineTze !)
ReplyDeleteDraga doamna Tina . Deja v-am indragit.Stil direct, transparent, subtil, complet, laconic...Da, doresc sa comunic SI cu dumneavoastra. Doar sa-mi iertati : lipsa diacriticelor(ar putea crea confuzii , la traducere din romana in engleza , chiar si invers);am 3 luni de blogg-ing si n-am gasit toate instrumentele necesare.
Plec la servici .
BineTze !
insomnia is part of my nights...lavender & lemongrass scent sometimes would help...reminds me of a Bali spa ;)
ReplyDelete~Hope Everything come up roses for the rest of your week Tina darling*
What a beautiful rose and a wonderful way to welcome spring.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope it's spring for good up here in Canada; where I am today was absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeletesorry I missed your insomnia but I hope you rest well tonight. the rose is just gorgeous - I have fallen in love with cabbage roses.
ReplyDeletegreat blog -- looking forward to reading and seeing more! and I second the melatonin suggestion -- either that or a fabulous Chinese doctor in Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose! Spring is definitely in bloom now. The beauty of a rose is that even when only one has bloomed or one is left at the end of the season it always makes you stop and take a moment.
ReplyDeletei love how your photos have a certain 'age' to them.
ReplyDeletespring is finally here!
Spring is arrived also here in Italy, unfortunately we are living dramatic moments..
ReplyDeleteMany hugs..
I'd love to exchange blog links with you,and thanks some some great links to other blogs. I love your photography, its so other-worldy.

ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful ! really i love this pict.. huhu
ReplyDeletethat is a fabulous image !
ReplyDeleteyou are welcome at my blog anytime !
wow this is amazing! how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIs it any wonder that roses--particularly the old fashioned ones like your lovely French variety--have inspired more poetry than any other flower? I hope you'll share photos of your porch when the bush is in full bloom!
ReplyDeleteI have just planted a climbing rose. I keep willing it to grow grow grow. Seeing your rose has cheered me up, it is lovely. It has reminded me that I have beautiful roses to come. Even if I have to wait a year or two.
ReplyDeleteWow! I wish the weather was that nice over here! We still have a little bit of snow left and the grass is still yellow. So no roses yet lol But at least all the snow is almost gone!
ReplyDeleteI love Eden climbers! They have such a beautiful form. I'm debating if I should get one to cover the ugly building that butts up against our balcony, but I'm not sure if they will climb it, even with a trellis.
ReplyDeleteMany flowers out now signify this beautiful season but your rose is truly stunning.
ReplyDeleteCJ xx
