Cherry Red Scooter

sunset plaza

I was in West Hollywood today and spotted this little scooter parked in an alley...

sunset plaza

...It's so cute. I wonder who it belongs to. Maybe a girl with a closet full of vintage dresses? Or a guy who prefers seersucker suits? It reminded me of this...

Bliss!

My very first love drove a Vespa. He also drove a bright orange VW bug. I have great memories about both!

this may be the only cafe race cuter than the one at the end of 'Amelie'

Vespas are sooo cute. Love the pictures you took...the little red flowers really complement the vespa.

Yo have great eyes Tina darling!
My grandad had a vespa in baby blue, wished we had kept it...I'd display it in my hallway. ~XO*

Isn't it amazing how a little accent here and there can change the ambience of a house? What if that were a black motorcycle? Different feel! Or what if it were a baby buggy?

It's amazing that it reminded you of Audrey Hepburn – it would have been her 80th birhtday yesterday ...

I love Audrey. She was so beautiful in so many ways. There's nothing cuter than a handsome man in a seersucker suit. Or madras pants. My boy will definitely be going preppy for our wedding.

Oh, and I really want a scooter!

Ah, the good old days.

I love it.

I have a little blue and white Honda scooter for getting around Crisfield. 100 miles to the gallon! I will have to get me some retro clothes.

Or maybe to a cute but fashionable old Grandma on her way to a party, but just stopped to pick up some cake to bring. She'll buy the cake and it will be in a white box tied with red twine that she will tie onto the front.

oh my goodness, i've wanted a vespa for the longest time. they're so beautiful and classic looking. it's funny too, because as i was scrolling down the page, i was thinking of 'roman holiday' as well, and lo and behold, there it was on your post!

funny that it was may 4th that you posted this, it was audrey's 80th birthday!!! :-)

It's an image that takes us back to a time when style, freedom and elegance were complimentary and not atagonists. Your blog so often reminds us that we should make it ours again.

love the clip. fun to imagine who the vehicle goes with, and great to be surprised when you actually see them.

You polaroids look like they've been taken somewhere in Italy. Love it. I live in the Italian neighborhood of SF and there a quite a few vespa's around! A particular one always catch my eye - pastel blue. It belongs to an adorable and very style conscious girl. She looks so lovely driving around with her oversized glamorous sunglasses! Love it! And love Roman Holiday!

I just love Roman Holiday - Audrey Hepburn was just the epitome of charm. I have a fantasy of having a little vintage Vespa, but I fear I'd go splatt within minutes.

i love roman holiday! but i especially love italy and vespas. really... i love it all. thanks for sharing.
p.s. i prefer to think the cherry red vespa is owned by a girl with a closet full of vintage dresses :)

Do you KNOW how badly I want a Vespa. And a red one at that!

I'm down in L.A. all the time and I've never seen such an adorable little thing.

P.S. I'm in love with Audrey Hepburn. :)
