...the next day over to Hollywood and then to West Hollywood, for a meeting with the lovely Willow Bay...
...In Beverly Hills for lunch with Colin Firth. Wait, I just want to say that again: Lunch with Colin Firth!!! yipeee!!..(sorry)...regaining my composure...
...Over to Century City, to the Avenue of the Stars...
...Then back in the San Gabriel Valley (stopping in San Marino for a cupcake...)
...Of course I believe cupcakes are the perfect food...
...One of my former bosses at the paper used to tell me: There's no news in the newsroom. It's out there in the city...
(PS: I'm doing a profile of Colin for the LA Times. It's set to run in a couple weeks.)

Don't you think the light in L.A. is just like nowhere else on earth??? It's so beautiful out there ...
Lunch with Colin Firth??? What!! Amazing! Love your pictures. :)
Cupcakes and Colin Firth - lucky, lucky girl!
your old boss might have had something there! i'm with him. i have seen some amazing things just driving around in obscure places
Why, hello, you gorgeous cupcakes. I love the presentation. So perfect.
And Colin Firth is pretty cool too. It's probably a good thing that you didn't take him to the cupcake place. I would probably have a hard time concentrating on conversation with Colin if these beautiful cupcakes were around...
Agreed...although Colin Firth is a tastier dessert than a cupcake....
If you need a New York celebrity correspondent, I'm your woman!
oh yes, actually!! you would be the perfect new york celebrity correspondent!!
what a lovely post! i've lived in LA my entire life, and never really hear anyone say that they love the city...it's like they have to say NYC or Paris is better. good for you for showing some LA pride!

So great Tina!! I just want to get on the next plane!! Glass always 1/2 full. oxo, Barbara
This is such a great post Tina!
Oh, Colin Firth... swoon.
Lucky girl. California must be a pretty nice place to live. Not like the desert climate of some parts of Australia (and I'm not only talking about the obvious ones.)

I live in the Los Angeles area too and aside from the usual tourist spots - there are so many more awesome and obscure places to see. Lovely photos - esp. the cupcakes..:) And lunch with Colin Firth isn't too bad either! Have a great day!

Agreed on the cupcakes and I'm in LOVE with their individual bell jar/cake platters. Too beautiful. I wish I had a whole collection of them just to use as jewelry holders/displays!
Those cupcakes are looking really delicious. But still, if I had to choose between those and Colin Firth, well, I know what the choice would be! :-) Sounds like a lovely week. And beautiful pictures you took, ofcourse!
That westlake sign looks so vintage LA
