Carry-on Bag

carry on bag

for the flight

Hello loves! Thank you for all your wonderful advice on my ongoing packing efforts for Paris. I'm definitely taking silk thermals and lots of scarves!! I've put together a few items for my carry-on bag: The essential map book of Paris (even though I need a magnifying glass to read it); a well-loved pashmina; a Penguin books journal; Chantecaille rose water spray; ear plugs from the Bryant Park Hotel in NYC; a little box of candy; a Mac Euro plug and an extra 4GBs; a copy of Fight Club for the plane and a Moveable Feast for cafe reading; and all the money leftover from my last trip!

  1. Lovely, dear. When are you leaving? The 20th?

  2. Gasp, I'm surprised there's not the necessary (but not chic) stash of tampons! The pashmina already looks like it's flapping in Parisian wind; how exciting!

  7. A pashmina is always a good choice -- excellent to keep you warm on the flight there and looking fashionable once you arrive.

  8. Oh I want to come with you! I just love pashminas, a staple plane item and yours is such a beautiful colour. Oh and A Moveable Feast, one of my very favourites, I take it everywhere. Have a wonderful time!

  9. One place to go for sure on Saturday mornings whilst you're there: Les Puces de Vanves, Porte de Vanves in the XIVth arrondissement (go there early because they start packing up at 12). The only real flea market in Paris!

  10. Looks like you're totally covered! I can already picture you a sidewalk table at Les Deux Magots reading A Moveable Feast. Love it! Safe travels and have a wonderful trip!!!

  19. Bon Voyage! I was considering a trip to Paris this winter, but I got cold feet after becoming a true Lady of Leisure. I will simply visit the Paris of my dreams and the descriptions you post!

  20. You seem well packed my dear, although after my last overseas trip at christmas I was kicking myself for not packing an eyemask as the airline didn't have them and it was harder for me to sleep. Although you may be on a night flight so it won't matter so much?..just a thought! So excited for you Tina, happy travels :)

  21. Oooh sounds exciting. You seem organised to me. I wouldn't know what to pack when travelling to that part of the world.

  22. haha it's kinda funny to see my daily money on a picture. By the way, that 1-euro-coin turned up side down is Italian, not French :) With a painting of da Vinci. When they first introduced the euro everyone was collecting all the countries. It's pretty fun!

  23. I recently read A Moveable Feast. It made me long for that snippet of Hemingway's life.

  25. Oh how fun! A trip to gay Paree. ;-)

Last time we were there I noticed that everyone dresses exactly like I used to when I lived in NYC. Lots of black. Black pants, black shirts, etc etc. SO you could do that or do what you feel... I think for a Cali girl that's Black Jersey Viscose Donna Karan dresses with pops of pastel accessories? :-)
XO - Have a fabulous trip.
