Wouldn't you just...

...love to spend the day with the curtains drawn....

...eating popcorn and watching....

Scarlett eating massive quantities of popcorn

...movie after movie?...

What would you like to see? Casablanca? Les Quatre Cents Coups? There's Something About Mary? Say Anything?

Anything at all?

Happy watching, darlings!

Your post is talking to me. This is pretty much what I've been doing over the past week. Pop-in the DVD around 6pm and watch episode after episode until 1am. I did not give up TV to be reduced to that, but I gotta admit, good tv without commercials, or break of any kind is... living the dream, right? Just push the skip button twice between episodes, and there you go, your fix is ready. Swap disc every 2-3 hours, down by k.o. The series in question is BSG. Don't let your subconscious dictate your opinion that it is for geeks and scifi fans. It's for everyone, and it's captivating. Go get it. Ha!
PS: I finished season 1 last night: miniseries + 13 episodes

I recently watched the HBO mini-series John Adams without a pause. It was enthralling really. Paul Giamatti is fantastic! And he reminds me a little of my editor, who i lovelovelovelovelove!

I am currently watching the entire series of House of Elliot. I love it so much, but the only problem is, I am starting to take on the personalities of the characters! I am dressing only in 1920'2 style clothes, talking in a posh english accent and sketching pretty dresses every chance I get. My husband says it need to stop, but I dont know...

More than anything, yes! I'm three days into a job tiling a complicated shower pattern. I'm tired, it's raining, and I haven't had a lazy day in many months. I think I may have to schedule a movie day for this weekend. I may even force my sweetie to watch a chick flick that he will say he didn't like, but secretly I'll know that he did!

Yes. . .and I'd want to include theoriginal Thames television version of "Brideshead Revisited" and "I Confess", Hitchcock's most overlooked masterpiece.

Oh, yes. Please! Only I've given up eating for Lent, so could I just knit instead while we watch? :~)

On my list: The BBC's 2005 release of "Bleak House" episodes run back-to-back; Pride and Prejudice, the one with Colin Firth as Darcy; that takes care of Day One. By now, I've completed one sock and am speaking with a perfect British accent. ;~)

Day Two is our tribute to old Hollywood: "The Enchanted Cottage","All about Eve" and "Mildred Pierce". I've completed sock two.

And then, because after all the black and white, I'll need a color injection, I'd watch Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" and the Reese Witherspoon version of "Vanity Fair".

Bliss.

And how. I come by this honestly as my mother was/is a film maniac. Her example of going to the movies by herself was a powerful one as I grew up. ("Your mom goes to the movies...alone? Gasp...) Yep. One weekend she went to see Dr. Zhivago three times! I was so jealous.

Anyway. I rec'd a 3-month gift membership to Netflix from sympathetic friends. So back to/or in queue (400+):

-Trois Couleurs (all)

-Casablanca (I can act out all the parts, major & minor but must brush up)

Petulia (speaking of Julie C.)

Vicky Cristina Barcelona (which I loved in theatre but want to see again)

The Duchess

The Tudors DVDs (OMG,what a guilty pleasure)

Milk will be in the post today

Brief Encounter (sniff)

Enemies: A Love Story & The White Countess (because of Ron Silver & Natasha Richardson...last week)

Berlin Alexanderplatz (which is very long...so that will be a week of moody posts surely)

The Last Waltz

In Treatment (1st season).

I better put in a comedy. Peter Sellers! Something, um, Pink.

And if you, Tina, like pink blooming trees (your au courant tweet), perhaps you should visit DC again soon...cherry blossoms anyone?

Also magnolias, tulip trees, dogwoods, big floopy azaleas later on. Did anyone notice "our" beautiful pink tulip trees in the background when Pres. Obama was speaking to Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes?

Off to look at some trees instead of the computer. ciao all!

Considering how I didn't want to get up this morning and face the world, I think the prospect of watching movies all day would have made me leap out of bed with joy.

I think I would start with "The Thin Man" 'cause I'm a sucker for goofball comedies from the 30s, then continue
with "Un long dimanche de fiançailles", because it's just amazing and I have a crush on Audrey Tautou, then finish with a bang with "Down by Law" because there is no movie like it.

Right now, I'm dying to watch Une Femme est Une Femme. Also, I have yet to see Benjamin Button, and that's on my list. I'd also like to watch Mongol again just because it's so beautiful. I want all of the costumes.

The Scarlett GIF makes my head go a bit funny - I think it's just a split second too short...or I'm down a few hours sleep...

Les Quatre Cents Coups is lined up for watching next, and I just made a big dent in a bowl of popcorn with The Big Sleep...

Yes, yes I would... watch an entire season of Curb Your Enthusiasm with curtains drawn with popcorn.

Heaven! Just throw some plain M&Ms in the popcorn and load up on Diet Coke then start running Cary Grant movies and/or musicals and/or Katherine or Audrey Hepburn...Too many movies, can we make this a whole weekend thing?!

Ohh, yes! This is particularly awesome when it's raining outside. There's a long overhang by my bedroom window, so I open it all the way whenever it rains, and hopefully have a DVD handy.

I saw her eating popcorn, and she was watching a movie. I like watching movies too. I am newcomer to blogs so excuse for intruding. I have a literature class at college, and I started doing a blog. Are you a movie star? You are cute!
