A Pugly Morning to You

Hi, my name is Katrina and I'm one of your subs for today. Some of you may recognize me as the Doyenne of Flats from our Facebook group, the International Society of Girls in Flats. As you may know, Tina is on family leave for a few weeks. She asked me to be a guest blogger. I'm happy to help. Please, no throwing spitballs while I'm writing on the blackboard.

I live far far away from the center of the blog universe, in a little place called Puglyfeet.com. Quite literally, my blog is from a my-point-of-view looking-down perspective. There are others who do this kind of thing especially well, and they are my idols. The following photos are some of my favorites. In fact, I wish I had taken them myself. Joyful, colorful and creative, these pictures make me smile. I hope they evoke the same feelings for you this Monday morning! :)

Inspiring Interiors

Hi Everyone! It's Crystal from Plush Palate again. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on my last post. Though we all miss Tina dearly, I appreciate you making me feel so welcome here in the meantime!

I spend a lot of time thumbing through interior design images each day. Most of the time they are perfectly composed, brilliantly staged, and impossibly pristine. As a perfectionist, that speaks to me and is what I strive for in my own place. But every once in a while, I crave to see those spaces that take me out of my comfort zone. I want to be floored and energized by something messy, something unexpected, or something creatively genius. That's when I turned to the The Selby, where the homes they shoot are refreshingly lived in and always overflow with personality.

some kind of wonderful

It's been a long, sun drenched, lazy, champagne drinking, lovemaking with husband kind of weekend. These images are perfection, by Olaf Hajek, see here

In search of a hook …

I’ve been scurrying around in here for hours now, trying to find a hook on which to hang this guest post … and for a while I thought I would just re-hash an old post of mine, one which made me giggle a lot and blow coffee through my nose - but wouldn’t that be such a ridiculous cop-out? Of course it would. But let’s not give up on that idea just yet …

So … hello, this is Jonas from Beyond Wunderman, and I guess that if you know my blog you are probably as surprised to find me over here today as I am. Whatever. The majority of you will of course have no idea who I am, and that’s going to have to be the hook after all … Beyond Wunderman is where it all comes out, where I write about things which have happened, things which haven’t really happened at all, and things which I hope will – all, thankfully, with the restraints of time removed and with some varied and colorful images attached to brighten it all up!

… speaking of which … with this being such a bright, colorful blog Tina has put together it would be a shame to overload it with self-indulgent ramblings. That’s right; bright and colorful it must remain, in contrast to this rather grey, humid Parisian Sunday which presses against my window right now.

And so let’s keep this brief … here are three photographs from a “suite” of posts, recalling a certain time and a certain situation, something that still keeps me awake at night. The details are really not that important - the images, as ever, fill in any gaps.

... and Tina, thanks for having me over.

Hello There!

Hello dear readers, fellow bloggers (or whatever you want to call yourselves) Crystal (previous post) pretty much covered the whole Tina is on a hiatus thing and there is going to be guest bloggers. Who am I? You ask. You may know me, you may not, but nonetheless, I am Micaela from The Drifter and the Gypsy.

I am an aspiring photographer, romantic junkie, realistic dreamer, and this may sound cheesy, but I love love! Eleanor Hardwick is my god (or should I say goddess??) Jack Kerouac is the love of my life. I wish people still dressed like they did in the '40s. I daydream a lot about my own black and white world. I'm just an old fashioned girl with a touch of Peter Pan syndrome.

And I currently have a love affair with this picture from Gemma Booth:

Here is some of my own photography:

So they're really amateur-ish right now, but what am I, young maiden deprived of Photoshop and a fancy camera supposed to do?

I would love to take pictures like this:

The Lovely List is teaming up with Bike Buyers, and is going to be giving away one cruiser each month! I love the look of these old-fashioned bikes. Who knows, maybe one of you guys will be the lucky winners!

Well, I must be going now. Why is Monday always such a rude awakening?

How was YOUR weekends?

Indulge Yourself

Hi everyone! It’s Alya, again. I loved the feedback I got from my previous post here.. it’s going to be pretty hard to leave once September comes!

Today, I thought I’d share something somewhat different. It’s the weekend. You worked hard last week and now you want to relax.  You deserve it. I’ve always been a proponent of indulging one’s self. You only live once right?

This weekend, simply indulge yourself in some yummy food. Make it a point to eat something you love. Trust me you’ll feel better immediately. Also, take a look at all these wonderful summery foods styled by one of my favorite prop stylists Paul Lowe. I think looking at these photos might be just as enjoyable as eating. Ok, maybe not AS enjoyable, but close enough..

Out of Africa

Hi, It's Maggie from Flux Capacitor

Nick Brandt takes truly magical photos. In this series from his 2008 book, he captures the out-of-this-world essence of African animals in a totally beguiling and mesmerizing way. View his fantastic work at his website here. ( I adore the zebras )

Colorful Celebration

Well, hello there and happy Friday to you! I'm so, so thrilled to be guest blogging here. I truly adore Tina's blog and have been a fan for quite a while!

I'm Julie, and my husband and I are the duo behind Duet Letterpress. When I'm not busy designing or pedaling away at our antique Pearl press, I can be found here where I blog daily about our shop and our studio. It's also where I jot down inspirations and ideas and document things I love.

Today, I thought I'd share with you some photos from a friend's wedding. Her photos are truly gorgeous. And magical. I've never seen anything like them, and I thought you might find them beautiful too.

Those colors up there? I could get lost in them for days.

Congratulations and thanks Dana + Hunter.

Also, thank you Tina for having me here.
